Break from swimming

I've tried a couple of swim lessons for Caden the last couple of days, so we've been in the pool a lot lately. I love it, Caden asks to swim everyday, even Soleil likes swimming in her floatie. Good times. Anyways, a bunch of us were at the pool on Monday, getting one last before-school swim day in since school started here yesterday (can you believe that?? it's so early! not that the school year affects our family much yet!) My good friend Jen, who is a great photographer, shot a couple of pictures of Caden. I thought this one was excellent. He was taking a break from swimming and getting a snack. He took a really good nap that day! (Another reason why I love to go to the pool...wear the kids out!) I just love this picture! Thanks, Jen!

Caden and Miles

This weekend Caden had a friend, Miles, over. What a day these two had - lounging around in pj's until noon, then eating cereal half-naked for lunch. (What can I say, I know how to throw a party!!)

Cha-ching!

I'm posting like crazy since both kids are sleeping right now. I took this picture last month when Caden got his new piggy bank, but it's too cute not to post! Plus, all 4 eyes are looking at the camera...a rare victory for the photographer. Grandpa Jim would be so proud! Caden played with his piggy bank for days, but would get frustrated trying to get the money back out. (So much like his mommy!) Now the bank is sitting high on a shelf as cute decor.

Kayaking with Lisa

Lisa and I went kayaking last week as a last girls day out hurray. It was so fun! Lisa got a little seasick, but she braved through it! She did roll our boat over trying to get back in. Good thing I have years of experience of getting myself back into boats from rafting. Anyways, we had some good swells, saw some good sights, had some good fun. Bye Lisa!! My visiting teaching record won't be the same without you!!

Late Nite Ramblings

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. Between being gone to Utah for the Bramwell family reunion and having my family in town for a few days, then having Scott out of town for the next few days, I haven't had a lot of spare time. I did have time to read the latest and greatest Harry Potter - yes, I am a self-proclaimed Potter nerd. I read most of it while Scott drove back from Utah. What a great husband! I loved the book, was very satisfied with the ending, and can't wait for the movies. So do you really think J.K Rowling is done writing about Harry? I hope not.
The kids were fantastic on the long drive to Salt Lake and back. Caden did get his fill of movies. Poor Soleil is still sitting backwards, but occasionally she'd try to turn around and watch the screen. Big news: she started crawling during the reunion! She's been belly-scooting for over a month now. I kept waiting for her to get up and go, but she seemed quite content callusing her tummy. She is all over the place now...she is so fast. Time to put the baby gates up.
Caden is still going crazy. He had so much fun with his cousins, especially Drew. (the only other boy cousin his age.) I wish Ross and Maria lived closer so the boys could play together. Isn't Atlanta too hot?
Scott just got back from spending 4 days in Boston with a client. The purpose of their trip was to go see the Boston Red Sox play Scott's beloved Baltimore Orioles. Nice, huh? The client paid for some of it, and Scott will get comp'ed for the rest of it...that is the way to do a "business trip," right? It sounds like they had lots of fun, had awesome seats, and good weather. And since I slaved day and nite with the kids by myself, I forsee a Pottery Barn Kids purchase to even things up. What do you think, girls? Sound fair? I'm almost done with the playroom...then I'll post a pix of it. I'm very pleased so far with the results.
Speaking of pictures, sorry for the lack of one right now. Scott took the camera to Boston with him, and who know's where it is. Then I'd have to download them onto the computer, then upload them here.....you get my point. Too late, too tired. Next time for sure. I know that's why you get on here in the first place! ;->
My good friend Lisa is moving away. It is confirmed. Practically all my good friends move away. I am so sad. Her little boy is Caden's good buddy too. I don't think he'll understand that Peter Jon has moved away. Ok, Tammy, Jen, Nicole, and Amy......don't even think about packing a box and moving away. I will hunt you down and drag you back. Lisa, I will miss you terribly. You are a wonderful friend.
And now it's off to bed.
